Join us for a 2 night or 3 night extended weekend of Yoga & Hiking at a fantastic location on the outskirts of the historic and picturesque Lake District village of Coniston.  You can choose between staying for 2 nights from £325 per person (departing Sunday) or 3 nights from £425 person (departing Monday).

The building is for our exclusive use, has glorious grounds and stunning views over the lake and surrounding mountains.
We will provide all meals and accommodation plus two yoga classes per day, a daily guided hike and stunning views throughout.

Our Spring Yoga and hiking weekend break in the Lake District is based at the stunning Lanehead near the lovely village of Coniston. In mid May we will be staying for 3 nights with 3 full days of yoga and hiking included or you can choose for a 2 night break with 2 full days of yoga and hiking.

Spring Yoga and Hiking in the Lake District – at Lanehead

Lanehead is an exceptional period property situated on the eastern shores of Coniston Water, a Lake District home like no other. A fantastic and unique base to come together for our May long weekend of Yoga and Hiking.  It is perfect for our group and we have the entire property for our exclusive use.

Accommodation will be in twin share and triple share ensuite rooms.  The rooms are quite large and the house at maximum capacity can sleep 29, but for this break, our group size will only be 16.

All rooms are ensuite with great views of the surrounding grounds and hills.

Spring Yoga and Hiking  – Hiking

We will be offering a guided hike on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Coniston offers us a huge variety of stunning hikes over the fells or around the lakes.

Because of its location Coniston is perfect for a spring break in March for hiking and yoga in the Lake District. Lanehead offers great options for hiking from the door.

Spring Yoga and Hiking – Yoga

At Lanehead we have two dedicated rooms which we will use for our yoga classes.  There will be 6 yoga classes during this 3 night break and 4 yoga classes for the 2 night break.   Please note that you will be able to choose your yoga class for this break ; improver/gentler classes ideal for those new to yoga, or intermediate classes for those with a regular practice.   Yoga starts on Friday evening to unwind from your journey and on Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning, we begin the day with a yoga class before breakfast, then head out for our walk.  When we return from our walk later in the afternoon we can enjoy tea with lots of Yen’s delicious homemade cake.  On Saturday and Sunday early evening before dinner, there will be a further yoga class before dinner.

Yoga in The Lake District – Meals

A light supper on Friday evening upon arrival, dinner on Saturday and Sunday are included, 3 breakfasts and packed lunch are also offered.  Tea/coffee is also freely available at any time during the weekend.  Homemade cake is also included when we return from our hikes.  All food provided is vegetarian.  if you have any dietary requirements, for example, a nut allergy please let us know at the time of booking.

Below are example planned routes with estimated distances and times, however these may be adjusted depending on the weather conditions at the time.

Saturday (11km, 350m of ascent)

We will hike around the western shore of the lake where we will get stunning views across the water and of the surrounding Coniston hills.  There is then a short uphill section to reach Kelly Hall Tarn which is a fabulous spot for photos and to explore.  We then head back over to Coniston Water for a short Ferry ride (not included in the price) across to Brantwood the famous home of Ruskin.  Then its a short walk back to Lanehead.

Sunday (11km, 450m of ascent)

On our first day we will take a hike up along some beautiful woodland trails to the picturesque spot of Tarn Hows.  We can explore around the lake where there are some lovely viewpoints of the surrounding hills and the Tarn itself.  Our return will take us alongside a river and down through more woodland with some stunning waterfalls.  We then head into the village of Coniston, where we take a break and explore, before we head back to Lanehead.


Our final hike of the weekend will take us exploring the beautiful forest of Grizedale.  It has some gorgeous forest trails and views over Coniston Water and towards Windermere.

Note: These walks are moderate walks by Lake District Standards of about 11km (7.5 miles) each day. However, as it is the Lake District, there may still be steep and rocky sections and possibly wet and boggy sections. Therefore a good level of fitness is required and boots are strongly advised.  All of our weekends are aimed at people who have a good level of hiking and general fitness.


We have two dedicated rooms for our yoga practice with views out over the gardens to the Lake and mountains.  There will therefore be a choice of classes each session for either gentler/improver or intermediate classes.

We have found that we do have a wide range of ability during our weekends from beginners to teachers.  So for this weekend, at each yoga session slot there will be an improver/gentler class for those who are new or returning to yoga, (also suitable for those who may have an injury or a specific concern) and also an intermediate class for those who practice regularly or those with a longer standing practice.  If you are unsure which class to select, please contact us.

For the 3 night break, you will be able to attend 6 classes during this break and for the 2 night break there will be 4 yoga classes.

Yoga sessions will generally take place before breakfast and after we return from our walk. The general focus of the morning sessions will be to energise and warm up the body for our hike, and in the evening, will be to stretch out those tired muscles and relax the body and calm the mind. Yoga and hiking are a great combination, and everyone leaves feeling rejuvenated and re-energised.

Please bring your own yoga mat and pillow case as a minimum.  Other yoga equipment is provided (brick, block, strap, bolster, blanket and scented eye pillow), but you may prefer to bring your own if you have any.

As this venue does not offer any single rooms, we are able to offer a triple share room to be shared by 3 female solo travellers.

If you are a solo female traveller, who is happy to share a room with another female, and there is no availability, please let us know.

Lanehead’s extensive facilities include en-suite bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, yoga rooms, lounge and dining room.

There is a lounge with cosy fireplace and with fantastic views of the grounds, lake and hills which are perfect for relaxing.

There are extensive grounds and lawns with good sitting areas, views of the Lake and parking onsite.

Lanehead makes an ideal location for our May yoga hikes break.

Accommodation for this break, is in twin and triple bedrooms.
One of the triple rooms will be made available for solo travellers to book and to share.

All rooms are ensuite, have hairdryers and towels are provided.  Some of the rooms are quite large and have a mixture of bunkbeds and single beds but only the single beds will be used.  At maximum capacity Lanehead can sleep up to 29 but our group size will be 16 only.

For this break, you can choose to stay for 2 nights or for 3 nights.

The 2 night break includes 2 guided hikes, 4 yoga classes, meals and accommodation from Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon, with departures after tea and cake on Sunday afternoon.  This would suit those who have limited holiday or need to go back to work on Monday.

If there are 2 or more people interested, we are able to book a pickup at a set time from the nearest train station, and also return drop off. Cost will depend on the numbers but we do need at least 2 people, willing to share, taking the transfer on arrival and departure day to do this.  We will book the taxis on your behalf, and the cost will be paid by and shared amongst those taking the transfers.

Friday arrival day, Sunday departure Day

For our trips starting on Friday evening the pickup time will be at 4pm at Windermere Station (or around the same time at other stations such Penrith for our Glaramara venue, or Oxenholme for St Marks Stays).

The drop off time at Windermere Station (or other stations) on Sunday, will be to catch the 5pm train departing from that station.
