The wonderful views have inspired artists and poets alike for centuries. Wordsworth, Coleridge and Constable have all been notable visitors to the Hall and its impressive gardens.  Also located just a 15 minute walk from Ambleside, with it’s great selection of shops, restaurants and traditional pubs, whilst from our accommodation we have access to the fells and mountains that surround us.

Lake District Yoga Hiking Break – Yoga Classes

We have our own 3 dedicated yoga rooms on the ground floor and 1st floor looking out over the gardens.  We offer two yoga classes each day and we will explore the stunning Lake District scenery on a moderate  or strenuous hike in between.  There will be a choice of yoga class at each session tailored to ability : beginner/gentle,  intermediate level and advanced for those who practice regularly and you will be asked which class you would like to go to upon booking.

Sessions will take place before breakfast on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and after we return from our walks on Saturday and Sunday.  The general focus of the morning sessions will be to energise and warm up the body for our walk, and in the evening, will be to stretch out those tired muscles and relax the body. Yoga mats and props will be provided but you are most welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.

Lake District Yoga Hiking Break – Hiking

We have a fantastic choice of walks available directly from the Brathay Hall.  We are close to Windermere lake, so will aim to hike around some of the Lakeshore and use the ferries on one of the days.  On another day we will hike up to the lovely village of Grasmere, passing by two of the prettiest lakes in the area of Rydal Water and Grasmere.

You will be asked for your choice of hikes upon arrival.

Your hosts, Kevin and Yen both live in the Lake District, know the area well and have walked extensively here.

So for this weekend, at each yoga session slot there will be the following classes :

for those new to yoga, returning after a long break, or who have a specific concern, or who just want a slower/gentler class with more instruction
for those with previous experience and/or practice about once a week, and familiar with sun salutations
Intermediate +

Yoga mats and props will be provided but you are most welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.

Everyone who has been on one of these weekends all agree that yoga and hiking compliment each other perfectly and make for the ideal weekend getaway.
