Our latest Lake District Yoga Hiking Weekend was at Nab Cottage on the shores of Rydal Water and with great views across the lake.
We started late on Friday afternoon with an introductory yoga class, in the converted barn at the cottage. The barn feels spacious and airy with great views up to the hills, with sheep grazing in the fields outside.
We then had a relaxing dinner at the cottage and discussed the weekend ahead.
Lake District yoga hiking weekend – Saturday
Saturday morning was stunning and a couple of us took the opportunity of an early morning swim and canoe, before our first yoga class of the day.
After yoga and a fantastic breakfast we started our walk for the day through spectacular blue bell woods and then up and along Loughrigg Terrace, giving great views over Grasmere.
We made our way along the lake shore and into Grasmere, for a quick explore of the village and a second breakfast stop. After exploring Grasmere, our next destination was Easedale Tarn. A quite popular spot and perfect for our lunch stop.
We had a well earned rest and enjoyed the sunshine at Easedale Tarn.
And took the opportunity for some impromptu yoga.
We enjoyed a great walk back down through Grasmere and arrived back at the cottage in time for Tea and homemade cake on the lawn. We then had time to enjoy the sunshine and the hot tub, or just relax before our next yoga class.
Lake District yoga hiking weekend – Sunday
Sundays walk was basically a circuit of Loughrigg Fell. So we started along the shore of Rydal water to enjoy the views back to the cottage.
Our lunch stop was one of our favourite places in the Lake District at Loughrigg Tarn. The view across the tarn to the Langdale Pikes is one of the classic views in the Lakes and makes the perfect picnic spot.
We also had some time for a little bit of extra yoga practice, before we arrived back at Nab cottage for our last yoga classes of the weekend.
A wonderful weekend with great weather and great people.
