Description
This will be our second Wales Yoga Hikes expedition to Trigonos in Snowdonia. We have a fantastic location and base at Trigonos with great views of the lakes and mountains.
Trigonos is situated in Dyffryn Nantlle (the Nantlle Valley) in the Snowdonia National Park, halfway between the coast and Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and England. An area of beauty and grandeur, the Nantlle valley offers a range of walks for all levels of experience. From challenging mountain climbs to easier woodland or lakeside paths, the peace and beauty of the area is unsurpassed.
We will be a larger group so we are able to offer a choice of yoga class tailored to ability and experience, plus a choice of a strenuous, or moderate hike each day. The strenuous hiking option will take us up some of the mountains, including Snowdon on one of the days and the moderate hikes will stay lower down and explore some of the lake shores and gorgeous countryside.
This will be a peaceful and friendly yoga and hiking retreat in the heart of the Snowdonia. Trigonos offers vegetarian accommodation for non-smokers with stylish rooms, stunning views and peaceful ambience within delightful grounds.
Dinner, breakfast and packed lunch are also all included (please note that all the food at Trigonous is vegetarian).
Although we have not visited Trigonous before you can read about some of our other weekends on our Blog Posts here.
Wales Yoga and Hiking in Snowdonia
For this Snowdonia Yoga Hiking break there will be a total of 5 yoga classes throughout the weekend, starting from Friday evening, through to Sunday afternoon. We will ask for your choice of yoga class upon booking (gentler/improver or intermediate) We will also be offering a choice of guided hikes each day, of either low level around the lakes, or venturing into the mountains to catch some of the best scenery of the area.
Wales Yoga Hiking Break – Accommodation
Trigonos is based on an 18 acre estate in a quiet Snowdonia valley. It borders a lake within a superb mountain landscape that looks up to the west face of Snowdon.
We will have exclusive use for our group, so will be the only group on site. We have sole use at Trigonos and the bedrooms are a mix of single ensuites, twin/double ensuites and also a few single and twin rooms with shared bathrooms. All are comfortable and simply furnished.
Rooms are either on a single room occupancy or on a twin share basis. If you are coming on your own, as many do, then you will be allocated a room with a member of the same sex, unless you prefer to book for a single room.
The public rooms of Trigonos provide quiet corners for you to curl up with a book or just enjoy the quiet ambience of the house. We are kept warm in cooler times with the help of an eco-friendly biomass heating system. Trigonos is indeed a special place to make the most of your relaxing break in Snowdonia.

Hike Information
Walk options will depend on the weather and current conditions. However, these are typical options and if the weather is suitable we will be offering these walks, or similar. If the conditions are not suitable the walk options will be reduced, but we will still offer walks whatever the weather.
Note: If you have been with us before where there has only been a single group hike, this will be equivalent to the moderate hike here. The strenuous options are faster paced, cover more distance, height gain and descent and possibly over some rougher ground.
Strenuous Option
Saturday : TBC
Sunday : TBC
Due to Covid we have been unable to recce the walks so far, but the strenuous walks will be mountain walks with possibly one being a hike to the summit of Snowdon. Weather permitting of course.
Please note for the strenuous walks, a good level of hill fitness and hillwalking experience is required as there will be longer sections of ascent and descent, on rough terrain at a faster pace than the moderate hikes.
Moderate Option
Saturday : TBC
Sunday : TBC
As above these are still to be confirmed, but the walks will be lower level and more leisurely.
Please note all hikes will be led by qualified Mountain Leaders
For this weekend we are able to offer yoga classes according to ability and experience and we will ask for your choice of class upon booking.
We have found that we do have a wide range of ability during our weekends from beginners to teachers. So for this weekend, at each yoga session slot there will be an improver/gentler class for those who are new or returning to yoga, (also suitable for those who may have an injury or a specific concern) and also an intermediate class for those who practice regularly, or those with a longstanding practice.
We will have two dedicated yoga rooms on the ground floor and looking out over the gardens.
We offer a yoga class on Friday evening before dinner, then two yoga classes each day on Saturday and Sunday, and a final class on Monday morning. There will be two yoga teachers who will teach the classes and will split the classes so irrespective of your level, you will have two teachers over the weekend.
Sessions will take place on Friday evening to get you in the mood for the weekend, then Saturday and Sunday before breakfast and after we return from our walks on Saturday and Sunday. The general focus of the morning sessions will be to energise and warm up the body for our walk, and in the evening , will be to stretch out those tired muscles and relax the body. There will be an emphasis on the breath and movement, and our priority is for the yoga to be enjoyable and safe for all.
Yoga mats and props will be provided but you are most welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.
Everyone who has been on one of these weekends all agree that yoga and hiking compliment each other perfectly and make for the ideal weekend getaway.
Any queries regarding the yoga sessions, please contact us.
