Our latest Cumbria Yoga Hiking break got off to a great start on Friday evening. Amazingly, we had a double birthday celebration complete with birthday cake after dinner.
Before that we had our first relaxing yoga class to stretch out, prepare and ease ourselves into the weekend.
We had a full group of 16 for this Cumbria Yoga Hiking visit to Nab Cottage. We visit Nab at least twice a year as its such a unique location for exploring this area of the Lakes and has a great yoga studio.
For all of our weekends at Nab, we start the weekend with a yoga class on Friday, before dinner. Each morning we then start the day with a class before breakfast, then head out onto the hills for a full days hike. We return for tea and homemade cake, before our second class of the day. We then finish with dinner. Sunday follows a similar schedule, but with a shorter hike and we head off home after the last class of the weekend.
Reviews & Comments
These were just a few of the comments that have already been left following the weekend:
Cumbria Yoga Hiking Break – Saturday
Saturday started quite dull and grey with some light rain, but it didn’t dampen our spirits as we headed out after yoga and breakfast, for our first days hiking.
Our Saturday route took us along the Lakeshore of Grasmere and into the village itself for a brief stop, before we hiked up to the popular spot of Easedale Tarn. The path up to the tarn passes by some great waterfalls on the way.
On our hike back to the cottage after lunch we stopped off at one of our favourite spots at White Moss, which gives a great view of Rydal Water and the perfect spot for a group photo.
When we returned to Nab Cottage at the end of our hike we were greeted with sunshine. Just perfect for tea and scones out in the Garden.
While a few of us braved the cold water in the Lake for a brief swim, followed by a dip in the hot tub.
Cumbria Yoga Hiking Break – Sunday
Sunday was a lovely sunny day and perfect for a day of hiking in the Lake District. Our hike started by heading down a quiet country lane towards Ambleside, before hiking more steeply uphill to Todd Crag. This is one of favourite viewpoint in the Lakes and gives a spectacular view all the way down Lake Windermere.
From here we made our way over Loughrigg Fell for a great lunch stop at Loughrigg Tarn with wonderful views to the Langdale Pikes.
Next stop was another great viewpoint over Grasmere from Loughrigg Terrace. The whole of the hillside was covered in Bluebells, which only added to the great view over the water.
We finished our Sunday hike following the shore of Rydal water, from where we could see Nab cottage picked out on the opposite side of the water.
We returned to the cottage for a quick change and then head into the yoga studio for our last class of the weekend, followed by tea and cake in the garden before departing for home.
A fantastic weekend with a great group, who we really hope to see again very soon.
