Autumn Colours & Waterfalls

Our latest break at Nab Cottage, was under Covid restrictions and social distancing. We had a lovely group, which was reduced from our usual numbers but was still great fun and a bit of an adventure with the weather. However, we had some stunning views and some gorgeous autumn colours and waterfalls in between the rain showers.

Nab Cottage is such a great location, with access to some of our favourite walks.

We also have a great studio with plenty of room to socially distance between our mats.

Usually for a weekend at Nab we have 16, but this group was a group of 8 in order to maintain distancing and reduce sharing in rooms.

We started the weekend as usual with yoga on Friday evening, followed by dinner and an introduction to the weekend.

Autumn Colours & Saturday Hike

Saturday morning we had our second group class, then breakfast, packed our bags and headed out. It was a bit of a daunting start as we were met with a deluge, but it did ease off quickly as we headed towards Grasmere. So the skies and rain lightened, however we were still met with some flooded sections.

After Grasmere we followed some of the Coffin trail to White Moss where we stopped to enjoy the views over Rydal Water.

Then we made a circuit of Rydal Water with a stop off at the caves.

We finished our walk by exploring the grounds around Rydal Hall and following the river and waterfalls which were stunning after the recent rain.

After our hike we relaxed with plenty of tea and cake, which was later followed by more relaxing yoga and then dinner.

Sunday Hike

Sunday started with a few more showers as we departed for our hike, but thankfully cleared by the time we got to the stunning viewpoint at Todd Crag. This is one of our favourite views of Windermere as we gaze down most of the length of the lake.

There are more fabulous views of the Coniston hills and of the autumn colours.

We stop for lunch beside Loughrigg Tarn and enjoy the views towards the Langdale pikes.

The final leg of our Sunday hike was around Loughrigg Terrace with views over Grasmere.

Then it was back for our last yoga session and we closed the weekend off with plenty more tea and cake before the journey home.
