Who are Yoga Hikes and what makes our trips special
Yoga Hikes is run by Yen Yau and Kevin Blissett and was set up so we could share our love of the mountains, hiking and yoga with as many like minded people as possible. We have been running yoga and hiking breaks since 2014 and live in the Lake District so have developed a great love and knowledge of the local area.
Our yoga hiking weekend breaks and holidays are mainly aimed at single, or solo travellers, and friends. We aim for them to be sociable and easy going, as well as sometimes challenging. So when you book on one of our trips, you will be sharing generally with a mixed group of about 16 people, so its a great opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy the weekend in a friendly and sociable environment. On every trip we often have people who have been with us before and people who have been recommended by friends so we are doing something right!
All locations are carefully chosen by us to offer something unique and that are close to a variety of great hiking routes. We do have a wide variety of accommodation for different trips from Rydal Hall a stately home to the historic Nab Cottage. We usually have sole exclusive use and an onsite space for us to practice yoga. We plan and organise our events thoroughly using our local knowledge so all you have to do is to turn up, making the most of your time with us.
Our yoga hikes breaks all include walks led by professionally qualified mountain leaders and yoga teachers, where we aim to be out walking for about 6 hours each day and we usually finish with plenty of tea and homemade cake, when we return. The trips we run are aimed at people who are already fairly fit and can be quite demanding, if you are not used to walking in the mountains.
